How it works
It acts by dissolving fibrin. It works by reducing inflammation, reducing oedema and inactivating Bradykinin (A factor responsible for inflammation). It is able to increase the diffusion of antibiotics and cytostatic agents in tissue.
Usage And Safety
Dosage
Adults : 1 tab 3 times a day. Always consult to your doctor or pharmacist for dose adjustments.
Side Effects
It can cause nausea, vomitting, stomach disturbance, anorexia , gastric dyscomfort , redness or rashes.
Drug Interactions
Some medications that slow blood clotting include aspirin, clopidogrel , diclofenac , ibuprofen , naproxen , dalteparin , enoxaparin , heparin, warfarin .
Indication
Serratiopeptidase is primarily indicated in conditions like Haematoma, Inflammation, Musculoskeletal disorders, Oedema, Osteoarthritis, Rheumatoid arthritis, Thrombosis, Traumatic injury, and can also be given in adjunctive therapy as an alternative drug of choice in Bronchial asthma, Bronchitis, Tuberculosis.
When not to Use
It is contraindicated when : Hypersensitivity to Serratiopeptidase or any of the excipients.Gastric ulcers induced in the upper digestive tract.In infants and young children.
Precautions
Precaution
It might interfere with blood clotting, so some researchers worry that it might make bleeding disorders worse. If you have a bleeding disorder, check with your healthcare provider before using this medicine.
Warnings
Warning 1
Use with caution in blood disease and hepatic disease .
Warning 2
The use of this medicine should be stopped at least 10-14 days before a scheduled surgery as it may increase the risk of bleeding during and/or after the procedure.
Warning 3
This medicine should be used with caution if you are consuming food items like fish oil, garlic, and turmeric.
